This notice explains how we collect, use and protect your personal information when you visit Justbit at justbit-online.nl. We take your privacy seriously and handle your data in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who controls your data

The data controller for this portal is the editorial team behind justbit-online.nl. We are responsible for deciding how your information is processed and for keeping it secure. If you have questions about how we handle your data, contact us at [email protected].

What information we collect

We gather two kinds of information when you use our site. The first is what you give us directly—your email address when you contact us through a form, for example. The second is what we observe automatically: your IP address, the pages you visit, the device and browser you use, and the time you spend on each section.

We also set cookies to remember your preferences and to understand which parts of the site are most useful. You can read more about cookies in our separate cookie policy.

Why we process your data

We use your information to operate the site, answer your questions, and improve what we publish. When you submit a contact form, we need your email to reply. When we analyse how visitors move through the site, we learn which sections need more detail and which are working well.

We also use aggregated, anonymised data to measure traffic and referral sources. None of this analysis identifies you personally.

Our lawful basis

Under UK GDPR, every use of personal data must rest on a lawful basis. For contact forms, our basis is consent—you choose to send us your details. For analytics and site operation, our basis is legitimate interest: we need to understand how the portal is used in order to maintain and improve it, and that interest does not override your privacy.

You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing [email protected]. Withdrawing consent does not affect any processing we carried out before you withdrew it, but we will stop using your data from that point forward.

Who else sees your data

We share information with a small number of third parties who help us run the site. These include our hosting provider, who stores the pages you see, and our analytics service, which tracks visitor numbers and behaviour. Each of these processors is bound by contract to handle your data securely and only for the purposes we specify.

We do not sell your information to anyone. We do not pass it to marketing platforms or data brokers. If the law requires us to disclose information—for example, in response to a court order—we will comply, but only to the extent the law demands.

Transfers outside the UK

Some of our processors operate servers in countries outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, we ensure the transfer is protected by an adequacy decision or by standard contractual clauses approved by the ICO. Your data receives the same level of protection regardless of where it is stored.

Your rights under UK GDPR

The law gives you several rights over your personal information. You can ask us to confirm whether we hold data about you and, if we do, to provide a copy of it. You can ask us to correct information that is wrong, or to delete it in certain circumstances. You can object to processing based on legitimate interest, and you can ask us to restrict how we use your data while a complaint is being resolved.

Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Where processing is automated, you have the right to receive your data in a structured, commonly used format and to transmit it to another controller.

How to exercise these rights

Send your request to [email protected]. Tell us which right you want to exercise and provide enough detail for us to locate your information—usually your email address and the approximate date of your contact or visit. We will respond within one month, and we will not charge a fee unless your request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's supervisory authority for data protection. Visit ico.org.uk for guidance on how to raise a concern.

How long we keep your data

We retain contact-form submissions for two years from the date of your message, then delete them. Server logs and analytics data are anonymised after 90 days and stored in aggregate form for up to three years to track long-term trends. Once the retention period ends, we delete or anonymise the data so it can no longer identify you.

Protecting minors

Our site is intended for adults aged 18 and over (18+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under that age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has sent us their details, contact [email protected] and we will delete the information immediately.

Changes to this policy

We review this notice regularly and update it when our practices change or when the law requires it. The date at the bottom of the page shows when it was last revised. Significant changes will be highlighted at the top of the notice for 30 days after publication.

For questions about this privacy policy, or to exercise any of your rights, email [email protected]. We aim to respond within 48 hours during the working week.
